What does love have to do with it?
Her life was a Tina Turner song. All her life, Celia Lynton had been told that she couldn’t marry for love, that marriage had to be a business contract, that poor men were only after the family fortune, blah-blah-blah. But now, there is no fortune. There is only debt and the urgency to find a way to pay for her younger brother’s tuition at a school that can cater to his special needs. So yes, there will be a marriage. One of convenience. Just as her parents wanted. She will marry a future Scottish earl—a very rich future earl—and her brother will be able to go to school. There is just one problem: Celia is in love with another man.
You don’t always get what you want.
His life was a Rolling Stones song. Carter Martin has loved Celia since they were kids. Never mind that he’s too quiet, too hard-working for someone who lights up a room when she smiles, adding that his father works for her family. Being the son of the “employee,” he could never be good enough for her. So, he’s worked hard all his life to prove to his boss, the Earl of Pembroke, that one day he can take his father’s place as estate manager and take care of the family that has looked after his for generations. What he doesn’t know is that Celia has her own plan… an intimate trip to Italy where they won’t be able to keep their hands off each other. How can he resist the only woman he’s ever loved?
