What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our blog, website or app?
When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information or other details to help you with your experience.

Log file information
We run a secure site with scanning, virus checks, malware identification, etc. As part of that set up, Log file information is automatically reported by your browser or mobile device each time you access our Services. When you use our Services, our servers automatically record certain log file information. How do we protect your information?
- We do not use vulnerability scanning and/or scanning to PCI standards.
- An external PCI compliant payment gateway handles all CC transactions.
- We use regular Malware Scanning.
- Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive/credit information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

- All transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.
Clear gifs/web beacons information
When you use any services, we may employ clear gifs (also known as web beacons) which are used to anonymously track the online usage patterns of our Users. In addition, we may also use clear gifs in HTML-based emails sent to our users to track which emails are opened and which links are clicked by recipients. The information allows for more accurate reporting and improvement of the content we provide you.
Do we use ‘Cookies’?

Information we may receive from third parties
We may receive information about you from third parties. For example, if you sign up for an email list on laurensmithbooks.com you will be added to my email list for newsletters and other correspondence about my products, services, events and the like.
If you purchase a book through a link on www.laurensmithbooks.com your purchase will be handled by the vendor you select (e.g., Amazon, Kobo, Nook, Apple, Google Play) and they maintain their own separate information about you that is NOT shared with us.
If you purchase a book from www.laurensmithbooks.com via the “Buy from Lauren” link you will be sent to PayPal for processing your purchase information. PayPal is our payment gateway and e-commerce provider. They will collect and share your name and the products you have purchased with me so that I can communicate with you about the product. They will also share your name with BookFunnel which is the service we use to deliver digital products to my customers. We pay BookFunnel to provide support to my fans so that any reader can get their book on the device of their choice.
If you use a third-party connection, for example, through Facebook or Twitter by “following,” “liking,” Lauren Smith or any connected pages, that third party may pass certain information about your use of its service. This information could include, but is not limited to, the user ID associated with your account (for example, your Facebook UID), an access token necessary to access that service, any information that you have permitted the third party to share with us, and any information you have made public in connection with that service.
